USB

USB is a universal connectivity option compatible with virtually all PCs and laptops. Furthermore, it offers quick and reliable connectivity on a plug-and-go basis. Installation of USB devices are relatively straightforward. USB can have it’s limitations however. One major disadvantage is that cable length can be limited. So ensure the distance between your device and PC is sufficient for a USB cable before purchasing a USB card printer.

USB and Ethernet

Card printers that support both USB and ethernet have all the benefits/limitations of USB as mentioned above. Plus the added benefits and limitations of ethernet. Ethernet is a type of cable often used in networking. It has a number of advantages, including fast speeds, security and being more affordable than using wireless networks. However, USB tends to be a more commonly used option. Because ethernet requires networking infrastructure to operate.
